You can usually edit transactions category or descriptions the next business day after they post to your account. Transactions may take one to two days before being categorized.

You can edit any posted transaction on your account summary page. Transactions may take one to two days before being categorized.

Why do some transactions show “category pending”? Transactions may take one to two days before being categorized because of processing time. Why should I edit a transaction?

Editing a transaction can help ensure the category is accurate, which will help you with spending analysis and reviewing your budget, and that the description is meaningful to you.

Can I create my own subcategory?

Yes. If you don't find a suitable category among those provided, you can create a subcategory in the budget or spending tools by finding the same transaction and using the drop down using the same category.

What happens if I change my category or description in the budgeting tools?

If you change a transaction, category or description in the budget or spending tools, it will update the same transaction in your USAA checking, savings, or credit card account. Likewise, changes to category or description made in your USAA checking, savings, or credit card account will update the same transaction in the budgeting and spending tools.

Why do some types of transactions show “uncategorized”?

Transactions may take one to two days before being categorized. Once transactions are categorized, checks and cash withdrawals will show “uncategorized” since we don't know what the transaction was for. Since you know what the transaction was for you can categorize it.

Your projected balance is not your available balance. Relying on a projected balance that includes incorrect or incomplete reminders could result in declined or returned items and associated fees.

Where do I find my projected balance?

You can find your projected balance under the “Scheduled Transactions” tab on your account summary page.

What's included in the scheduled transactions?

Scheduled transactions help you plan ahead. We've included USAA Funds Transfer and USAA Pay Bills transactions you've scheduled through USAA and any reminders you've added here.

This is not a tool to pay bills. It's a planning aid to help you add and track any upcoming expenses and income you expect in the future. Your projected balance is not your available balance. Relying on a projected balance that includes incorrect or incomplete reminders could result in declined or returned items and associated fees.
